  2. Squeeze the juice of 1/2 lime into the mixture.
  3. Add 1 gallon of distilled or filtered water to the container.
  4. Stir the mixture thoroughly to ensure the salt is dissolved and the ingredients are well combined.
  5. Submerge the produce in the solution and let it soak for 5 to 10 minutes.

  7. After soaking, rinse the produce thoroughly with fresh water before use.
