Reconnecting with Nature: Unveiling the Science Behind Grounding with Dr. Henry Ealy

I have to admit, I was a bit confused when I first heard today’s topic—grounding. Sure, I walk on grass and dip my toes in lakes, but I didn’t quite grasp the full picture.

Luckily, our guest, Dr. Henry Ealy, is here to enlighten us. He’s a naturopathic physician with a background in engineering, making him the perfect guide to explore grounding’s deeper benefits.

Dr. Ealy explains how we spend most of our day insulated from Mother Earth, missing out on the benefits of connecting with nature by walking barefoot or swimming in a lake. One fascinating benefit he mentions is improved sleep through grounding. He also talks about something called Zeta potential, which involves red blood cells moving more freely when we’re grounded. He even called grounding “nature’s Coumadin” due to its blood-thinning effects.

You really need to tune in to get the full scoop. I’ve been diving into the research and science he shared, and I must say, I’m hooked. I absolutely loved today’s episode, and I think you will too. Give it a listen!

In this episode

[05:19] Dr. Ealy discusses the importance of starting each day with gratitude.

[06:26] Understanding direct current (DC) vs. alternating current (AC).

[07:33] Dr. Ealy explains how grounding can help mitigate the negative effects of EMFs.

[11:50] How do alternating currents affect our body’s natural balance of direct current and what are the measurable effects?

[16:07] Dr. Ealy discusses the myriad benefits of grounding. Grounding can improve sleep quality by normalizing the day-night cortisol rhythm, reduce pain and inflammation, and enhance our overall well-being.

[20:12] Dr. Ealy provides practical tips to incorporate grounding into our daily lives, such as walking barefoot on natural surfaces like grass, sand, or soil, or creating a grounding sleep system.

[21:36] Dr. Ealy shares an experiment that demonstrates grounding’s impact on people holding hands.

[27:07] Why is it important to maintain a distance of 10 to 12 inches from your phone while using it?

[29:42] Understanding how zeta potential affects red blood cells and how grounding can help support healthier blood circulation.

[32:51] “The best blood thinner in the world is Mother Earth.” – Dr. Henry Ealy

[33:24] What is the difference between earthing and grounding?

[35:44] Dr. Ealy discusses practical ways to manage technology for better health.

[38:48] Dr. Ealy highlights the importance of prevention, neutralization, and elimination, in maintaining health against modern environmental challenges.

[44:21] Dr. Ealy explains how heavy metals become embedded in cell structures and disrupt the body’s direct current.

[51:23] What is a D-Dimer Test and what do elevated levels potentially indicate?

[54:35] Dr. Ealy emphasizes the importance of gratitude and grace, highlighting how a positive mindset can affect our cellular health and overall well-being, as well as how this holistic approach ties together the physical and mental benefits of grounding.

Butcher Box

Years ago, I had no clue what I was doing in the kitchen. I asked my chef friend, Gina, “How do you make chicken taste better?” She told me, “Boneless, skinless, tasteless.” She explained that cooking with the bone adds flavor, moisture, and even a nutrient boost.

Fast forward to today, and finding bone-in chicken can be a challenge. That’s why I love ButcherBox! They offer free-range, organic bone-in chicken thighs, checking all my boxes. And right now, you can get free bone-in chicken thighs in every box—up to three pounds for the next year! Plus, enjoy $30 off your first box.

Visit butcherbox.com/enos and use the code “enos” (all lowercase). Get ready for juicier, more flavorful chicken that’ll earn you compliments. Enjoy!

The Body Deli

Here are my favorite products that are always in my bathroom:

Creme de la Rose moisturizer.

Phoenix lift face and neck oil (when I run out of this, my face gets so dry and cranky!)

Blueberry Fusion Cleanser.

Vitamin C Serum.

Body Deli: Use the code ‘ENOS15’ at checkout for 15% off!

Martinelli’s Sparkling Apple Cider

Let me tell you about my favorite mocktail: Martinelli’s sparkling apple cider. It’s a fantastic substitute for champagne and perfect for summer drinks.

After my breast cancer diagnosis, I became more mindful of what I consume. A 2016 study from the University of Houston revealed that alcohol can fuel estrogen, promoting breast cancer growth. According to breastcancer.org, just three drinks a week can increase breast cancer risk by 15%.

Now, I save alcohol for special occasions and turn to Martinelli’s Apple Cider instead. It’s non-alcoholic, tastes great, and makes me feel festive. I love dressing it up with cranberry or pomegranate juice in a champagne glass for that extra touch.

You can find Martinelli’s Apple Cider everywhere, but I usually grab mine from Costco for a great deal. Enjoy your summer and sip on some delightful mocktails!
